Despite my fondness for tiny knits, I swear this isn’t a baby clothing blog. The baby clothes are just more fun to share!
This particular romper was for a co-worker’s little girl. Even though I could have gone with pink or a sweet yellow, I chose grey. Who does that sort of thing? I do, because I have an obsession with (as my mom would call them) “groutfits”. What can I say? I like to keep things neutral.
I think it turned out pretty darn cute, especially with a frilly onesie underneath. I have Baby Gap to thank for that one.
I chose wood buttons to attach the tiny suspenders. Are there any two words as cute as “tiny suspenders”? I digress… After seeing this romper on a wiggly 7 month old, I would definitely have used bigger buttons. The straps came loose easily with the small buttons, although that wouldn’t be an issue for a newborn.
If you’d like to give it a try, I highly recommend this pattern from agasalhosugalhos on Etsy. There are so many free patterns out there, but this one was worth every penny.
Stay tuned for more tiny (and normal sized) knits,
Jackie
