I first ventured into the relaxing world of knitting during my last year of university. Being in my early 20s, most everyone scoffed at this hobby—I couldn’t really blame them. In reality, knitting was a haven of sanity in my world of crazy. Like most hobbies adopted early in life, I dropped knitting for a while. That is, until I started working full time.
So what do you do when you’re in your early 20s and completely obsessed with knitting? You go full force, my friend. You make a cover for your eReader.
Before you judge my pattern (I use that word loosely), I’m still very much an amateur. This pattern—again, perhaps not the word I should be using—is so I can keep track of what I’ve done. On the bright side, it’s dead simple for any fellow beginners out there. Without further ado:
Knit eReader cover
Knit & Weave
Materials:
- Worsted weight wool or acrylic yarn
- Size 7 needles
- Tapestry Needle
Stitches Used:
- Seed
- Knit
- Purl
Pattern:
Cast on 33 stitches
K1 P1 in a seed stitch for 7 rows
8: K
9: *P
10: K
11-46: Repeat from *
47-53: K1 P1 in a seed stitch
Cast off and repeat.
Weave pieces together on the purl side and turn right side in.
